Pizza was very good. They are actually on 2nd St North, not 2nd Ave. Only 3 bar stools, so don't plan on eating in.

The pizza is great. I've only had delivery, but they were on time with a great sized pie that was very affordable. I would highly recommend this to any one. One caveat it the pepperoni which isn't your traditional red, greasy pepperoni.... Overall great pizza!

I'm going to be harsh cause when you inconvenience me, cause me to spend $20 on pie and then I'm eating my pizza thinking ehhh for half the price i could have gotten dominoes and been just as happy; I'm annoyed. First off lets start with the fact they dont take cards, i order delivery so i can do 1 thing and 1 thing alone.......nothing. I sit on my ass and wait for someone to knock on my door. Like most ppl I dont carry cash, so after ordering im told no card only cash. So I'm forced to get up and go to an atm, why did i do it? Cause i wanted to some good pizza, and ill drive to an atm for some good pizza. But that already got me saying to myself "this sht better be good" So no biggie i got to an atm grab myself a 12 pack and prepare myself for some college football and good pizza. Delivery was fairly quick, so after i paid the man I grab a slice and half of the bottom of my crust is soggy. Now im pissed for real, i dont like no soggy pizza bro. Toppings are good but pricey, sauce is average, crust is partially soggy. For $20 it just ain't worth it. One time.......last time.

Ordered a white cheese and spinach pie. What was delivered was a mess of ricotta and 5 spinach leaves laying on top. Disgusting. I threw it out. Gave one star only because it arrived hot.

Not the best place to order from if you're in a hurry! It took them 20 minutes after I placed my delivery order to call me and tell me they were out of one of the toppings I requested. And it was over an hour to get the pizza. But the pizza itself was good. Generous with the toppings and I really loved the crust. Not too thick and cooked perfectly. I'll give them another try and see if the service is a little better next time.

overpriced, they do not accept credit cards.

Pizza slices were huge! The pizza didn't have much cheese, I would have liked a little bit more. Chicken wings took awhile to make and definitely not worth the wait. Just plain ole wings, nothing fancy. It is cool that they will "deliver" to the bar next store where we went for a drink while the food was being cooked.

Really enjoyed the pizza! Tonight was our first time trying Old NE Pizza. My boyfriend is originally from the Bronx and is very picky about pizza -- he loved it. Only draw back is they only accept cash, which nearly made us have to order from somewhere else.

I love this place! The pizza is delicious and the large pizza is about XXL size. If you're hanging at the Tavern next door, you can have them bring pizza to you. Also the folks who work in there are awesome. They like to joke around and seem to really enjoy their job.

Recently had a pepperoni pizza here and I was not impressed. The pizza had a very meager amount of pepperoni, maybe 1-2 pepperoni per slice. The cheese was also very portion controlled and the dough was cooked more on one side than the other. The crust was also inordinately chewy. Top it all off with the fact they only take cash (e.g. saving money by not paying credit card fees) and charging high-end prices for pizza you think they wouldn't cheap out so much on quality. The pepperoni pizza they sell belongs more in the $8 range (I worked in the pizza industry in the past). I'm not sure if the pizza guy was having an off night (because some of the reviews claim stellar pizza) or if the reviews written are friends of business owner because it's not the worst pizza I've ever had, but I personally wouldn't eat here again unless very desperate.

Ive only had the pizza while at the old northeast tavern, but its always amazing. The bar itself is pretty hit and miss, but its one of the best pizzas in town, small, crunchy crispy thin crust with great seasonings and herbs and great toppings. Some of the photos on here look different than the small crispy ones that I live, so maybe their take out pizzas are different.

I've given this place more chances than I should have because I live just two blocks away, and the convenience factor made up for the lackluster pizza I've eaten here on previous occasions...but this will be the last time I eat from this place. The pizza--a whole, $16 dollar pizza--was absolutely gross. It is amateur hour here. Too much cheese, too much grease, poor craftsmanship, bad attitudes. I guess it's like a lot of things in our fair city: mediocre food gets a pass because no one knows any better. Done with this place.

  • Debbie H.

The guy I spoke to was really nice, as was the delivery person...but the pizza was so-so. First of all, we had delivery, and we ordered the pizza at 7:11 (checked my phone), was told 35 to 40 mins. Pizza arrived at 8:30! Crust was soggy and the cheese was congealed. Anyway...it was not worth $21 for a medium pizza.

This is one of my favorite places to order from. I'm your typical Italian New Yorker, so amazing pizza is what I grew up on. They have a fantastic range of toppings, I've never gotten a cold pie, and I've been completely satisfied with the quality and service nearly every time. There is one reason they received a 4 star rating from me instead of 5, and that's the credit card thing. The bar takes cards, I never carry cash, and it's very inconvenient because I basically have to plan in advance whether I'm going to order here or not. They would definitely see much more business from me in the future were they were able to process credit.. and I order at least one pie a week in general.

I just visited NYC a few weeks ago.. Nothing is like a NYC pizza.. But Old Northeast Pizza is the closest to GREAT pizza, and the best in the St. Petersburg area. And they Deliver

I should've known better. A paper plate hung behind the counter with the words 'New Jersey's Best Pizza' scrawled in black permanent marker. I'd been drawn in by a friend's description of the proprietor who, after a stint in fair NYC, had toyed with his dough and sauce recipe until it resembled Gotham's pizza. The dissonance between the hype and the scribbled plate didn't resolve itself until I took my first bite. The sauce: cloying with a soapy aftertaste. The cheese: decent, but no mozzarella di bufala, or even Grande Wisconsin mozz. The crust: Unusual. Too dense, too dry. Kinda like a crust jerky. The post-folding grease river softened it a bit, but not enough to redeem it. The crust and cheese might've been victims of age (hence resolvable in a fresh pie), and if you live in Old Northeast the proximity bonus might be enough to push it up a star or so, but I am moving on.

I love this place. The pizza is good, the staff is friendly, the topping selection is diverse. Stop by here on the weekend at 1am and you'll be surrounded by other happy people ordering really good pizza. I agree, the crust is kinda weird but the pizza rocks and I have never really liked crust anyway. :-) Also, they don't skimp on the toppings!

In addition to my first review, now months later I am still in love with this little shop! Consistently great pizza, open super late, good people, and tidy surroundings. Get out there and support this local business!

  • Michael Z.

Good, New York-style pizza for a reasonable price. Cash-only policy is a minor deterrent - however, the pizza and convenience is generally worth the ATM fee.

  • Jen R.

If you like greasy, BIG, fold-in-half kind of New York style pizza, this is it. PROS: --You can buy by the slice --Quick --Free delivery to Old Northeast Tavern next door CONS: --Cash only (though there is an ATM) --Really no seating area (basically carry-out or delivery)

  • Siri G.

Good pizza, nice and crispy, and friendly workers. What's nots to like? You can order slices which are large and loaded with toppings, something I enjoy. Also good selection of toppings. Tried a couple other things, but I think the regular slices are the highlight. Have to remove a star for cash only. Yes I know they are a small local business but I prefer the ease of credit transactions.

  • Stephanie V.

If you like New York style, have to fold-in-half-and-let-the-grease-run-off OH-frickin-YEAH pizza - Then this is your place. The thing I love is that they are consistent with sauce and crust so I know what I am getting every time. Pro-tips: 1. They ONLY TAKE CASH! - Don't fret, there's an ATM inside 2. They WILL deliver to Old Northeast Tavern if you are enjoying a brew. 3. They deliver - Cash only though so get those greens out. 4. You CAN order by the slice.

This is my go to spot for delivery. Nothing super special but good pizza at a good price. Better than any of the chain delivery alternatives.

  • Mark S.

This pizza reminded me of New York (specifically of Italian Village on 80th and 1st though not sure if it's still there). Very greasy and heavy on the cheese. You may need a knife and fork to navigate through their good-sized slices. I liked it, though it's a very specific style of pizza. Bonus points for the 1980s video game availability for only a quarter.

    (4)
  • Amanda R.

We went in looking for quarters, and came out 3 hours later with an AMAZING handcrafted goat cheese, basil, garlic, tomato pizza that was to die for. This is the real NY/NJ deal, as far as pizzas go! Thanks for persuading us "subliminally" at the first quarter request, it was "heaven on earth" as my roommate said.

The pizza is very good but they lose two stars for being difficult every step of the way. They don't have a menu online like every other place does, you have to download their app to see the menu. But you can't order through the app so you have to look at the app then call them. They only accept cash just to add to the hassle. And no matter how clear and simple I make the directions, the delivery guys don't even try. They just call and make me come outside.

Thanks to the reviews on this site we found this place! What a nice suprise. It's New Jersey style, not NY, which means the flavor is a little different but size is the same. We walked into it thinking we would grab a table and chow down. Nope, no tables but since the pub next door is same owner we sat there, put a few good local brews down and enjoyed the meal. Just a short walk from the ritzy and artsy scene.

  • Valerie R.

Decent pizza, one of our family ( a celiac) could not join us because they do not offer a gluten-free option. We will look elsewhere for the next pizza night

  • John L.

I don't know where you people have eaten pizza to say this place is so good, but it was definitely below average. Ordered extra cheese and I had more sauce than cheese. The sauce had a spaghetti-os consistency and taste to it and the crust made me chew so much, my jaw hurt afterwards. Definitely will not be back. My search for a great pizza place in St. Pete continues. PS - I was even kind of drunk when I ate it, so what does that tell you??

  • Cindy S.

I grew up in NYC. Thank you Old NE Pizza for making a cheese pizza so close to what I grew up with!! They're Big slices you have to fold, with just the right amt of cheese and sauce. The heros are great too, with homemade meatballs and crispy crust bread. So lucky to have this gem eight in my neighborhood! Cash only, but that's fine with me.

Please don't give credence to David C. from Ohio's review. I am from the Philly / New York area and Old Northeast Pizza's pies are the best in town. I've had pizza all over Florida and theirs is about number 3 in quality in comparison to real Philly / NY pizza and the other two best pizza places I've found here being in Naples and West Palm, Florida - both places being NY / Philly style pizza places. The ingredients are always fresh and delicious and the pies are piping hot and the dough is the perfect texture. I would highly recommend it. If there's a sign on a paper plate scribbled in sharpie then that just means that there is no BS pretentiousness going on and they are more concerned with making great tasting pizza than looking perfect or spending money on signs and fancy marketing materials - and that's how we do it in Philly yo. ;-)

The stromboli was the best I have had ever in Florida and quite possibly the best of all time. I am from the Hershey, PA area and have lived here 9 1/2 years full-time. I found a pizza place about 3 years after living here - Isabelita's on Central which was very good. I just don't disappoint myself by trying to find good pizza in Florida. When I visit home the first thing I do after getting off the plane is go to my favorite pizza place. Now I have Old Northeast Pizza so I won't miss the outstanding food of Hershey! Oh my God I was ecstatic enjoying every perfect bit of my stromboli and sauce. I am a sauce fanatic and it was perfect!!!! Yum Yum Yum - can't say it enough. Great staff and great food - what a peculiar combo right here in St Pete - sorry but we need more places like this!!!! Yay. I am craving that stromboli right now!!!

They have the BEST pizza, the BEST service and it's fast! I have never had a problem with delivery, they come when they say they are coming, and they are really nice! I have tried other pizza in the area, and the pizza wasn't bad, but the service and delivery always had one problem or another! I have been very happy with their pizza and their consistency!
